Freezing Woman 8 - Timeless Stories with Jennifer Kingsley
We are delighted to introduce our first keynote speaker for Freezing Woman 8.
Jennifer Kingsley is a journalist, storyteller, and National Geographic Explorer, and she's joining us as a keynote speaker for Freezing Woman 8.
Jennifer has been traveling in the Arctic for more than twenty years. In the summer of 2005, Kingsley spent 50 days on the Baillie and Back Rivers, paddling with a small team across the Nunavut wilderness to the Arctic Ocean. She wrote about that trip in Paddlenorth: Adventure, Resilience, and Renewal in the Arctic Wild (Greystone Books, 2014), which won the National Outdoor Book Award.
Kingsley is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Her writing has appeared in National Geographic Magazine, the New York Times, the BBC, and CBC, and her radio documentaries have aired around the world. She also works as a Cultural Specialist with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions.
Her current project has taken her a long way from the Arctic. Since 2022, she's been working with Master Navigator Tua Pittman from the Cook Islands, helping to document the resurgence of traditional Polynesian navigation. The book they're writing together will be published by HarperCollins.

The keynotes at Freezing Woman 8 take place on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at noon, at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre. You'll want a Ripples and Leaves Membership to ensure you don't miss out. Members are seated before the general public.
