Freezing Woman
As the legend goes, years ago, a group of women braved -25 C weather to camp in Algonquin park. Despite the extreme cold, the snow, and wind, they had a great time. The annual event has grown every year since - now at 300+ participants!
Freezing Woman is a group winter camping festival. Participants share camp sites in groups of between one to six people. Costs are shared between site-mates. The culture is very inclusive and welcoming.
This is a good trip to practise winter camping with mentors, and multiple backup options in case things go wrong. It is a car camping trip, so participants can bring more gear easily, and have a fallback just in case.
